Good morning

We are looking to move to Long Meadow Farms. I would love to hear input from those who considered the community and those who currently live in the community.

Pros? Cons?

Why you didn't choose the community? Why you did choose the community?

Concerns about living in an x zone?

Is there any proposed projects that would negatively effect the community, power lines, commercial development, roads, ect...?

Does anyone know why Winding Path Way just ends? Does anyone know what is being developed on the attached land?

Also, on a satellite view it shows some type of landfill or quarry just west of Oyster Creek. We drove by it, but it has no official markings. Anyone have knowledge as to what it may be?

Thanks in advance for your help

I loved this area...just too far south for us with too many commitments on the North end...I will say hit the "search this forum" button and put that in, you'll read many comments on it that have been written since it was first developed..lots of information to peruse there! Enjoy!

I prefer one side of Long Meadow over the other, I am not as fond of the new sections behind Santikos Palladium, I like the other side. All those areas are fine. I prefer Long Meadow, Harvest Green, Aliana, and Bella Terra over Fieldstone, Waterside Estates...etc.

We have lived in LMF for 4 years. We like it alot.

Have no idea what an x zone is....sounds like a Marvel movie

Have had no flood issues at all.....have never even seen water hop a curb

Like the other poster, the original section West of 99 is our preferance

Just curious as to why the newer section behind Palladium (LMF-The Trace is what its called IIRC), is not considered a good option? The builders there are pretty reputable with Highland, Darling, Drees, Ryland etc (same builders as the original section). Zoned to same high school.. They do lack in amenities but I believe folks in that section can use the bigger amenities in the original section as well...

For me, it was the aesthetics of one v. the other...the other one has bridges/water features/mature trees..just feels more 'homey'...the other is very similar to Cypress or other new construction areas...tract housing with no beauty to it...I'm sure it'll get there in time, but right now...not as nice as the older section.

Makes sense and I agree with this. But as you said, maybe once it's built out, over time, it should feel more homey as well especially with the park next to it that they plan to plant trees in (to the right as you drive inwards)... And it should appreciate pretty well too (maybe not at same pace as the older section but better than the ones around it)
100% agree with the cypress comment though! lol

Once the trees grow, hopefully it will all have a "homey" feel. Right now we like the section near Oyster Creek because of the trees. Has anyone noticed any flooding?
