What are the large companies located in Houston and The Woodlands? I heard Exxon is in Woodlands and saw G&E somewhere near the 8 freeway.

Exxon is actually not in The Woodlands. I think they have their own zipcode.

E&G is near Clay and BW8. Well until they buy Weatherford.

Thank you. Is there a area considered like a IT/Sillicon Valley in Houston? Are most of the companies located downtown or are they spread all over Houston?

No area will be like Silicon Valley. The closest thing to that would be Austin or North Dallas/Richardson, and even that is a big stretch. Companies are spread all over Houston. There are many different industries that will have the bulk of IT jobs - oil/gas, energy, aerospace, healthcare/the medical center.

Also the term 'IT' is extremely broad. Are you looking at hardware or software or networking or e-commerce or telecom, etc...?

Networking so it doesn't have to be an "IT" company per se.
