Yea, it's cracked me up how people will claim neighborhood x flooded when in reality just their detention basin and floodway overflow areas like golf courses, etc. did which is what they were designed to do. On the other hand, there were a few neighborhoods that were hit really bad.

Well I don't think roads and facilities were originally intended to be under water. For me it is seems not normal. I have never seen George Bush Park flooded like that. Yes, for Bear Creek Park it is quite common, even after regular rains. I hope American Shooting Center will reopen eventually, but who knows...

I read some parts of Rosenberg were flooded pretty badly recently and there is one subdivision it that area that is completely cut off from the mainland (can be reached only by boat or helicopter).

Actually the design in Houston area is to use the road to funnel water in the drainage system. People act like getting 8 inches an hour is some small amount of water.


Also when someone says Houston is flooding outsiders think everything in Houston is flooded not realizing how large Houston is.
