Ferals come in all income levels as well, both rich and poor.

in the amusement park business there hit a point where you either invested in your park, had all the newest and greatest rides and then you charged accordingly and that charge was generally HIGH and HIGHER than what most people though was even reasonable, but most people will pay it IF there are enough attractions and IF the atmosphere is decent for kids and families

the alternative is to be "cheap" and a local park that gets a FEW tourist (and declining as they see the atmosphere)

that results in just what others have stated car loads of garbage being dropped off by garbage parents that would not supervise their kids even if they were with them much less when they are not

and AstroWorld turned into a place where your 12 to 16yo daughter was treated to 10 to 25yo trash males looking at her and saying rude disgusting things, trying to touch on her, trying to instigate a fight with the parents and lots of crotch grabbing and hip thrusting and pointing

people pushing and cutting in line, mass thefts, mass fights, pants on the ground, language that sailors did not know

there was just no way to climb out of that death spiral short of shutting the park down for a year, massively overhauling it, upping the price significantly and then hoping you can draw back not only your decent local business, but out of town visitors as well and with AstroWorld it was just too far gone and the land constraints really made it hard to expand in a meaningful way even if they had wanted to

it is no different than the decline of a mall...."they show up" and good customers leave

and if you take "they' to mean something then you are most likely one of "them" so live with it because the rest of us are not interested in living with it or you and if that hurts your feelings then tough

and what happened at Texas Typhoon was they were simply scared to have another McKinney Pool Incident even though the McKinney Pool Incident was 100% justified

so instead of going ahead and calling the cops immediately when it was even close to apparent that things were getting out of control or when it was apparent they needed to exclude some "guest" for various reasons they did the "PC thing" and sold them tickets anyway until they reached capacity and then they failed to understand that "they" do not react well to being told no nor do they follow the rules of an event they came to uninvited and were allowed into anyway because that is "their" M.O......show up where you are not wanted or welcomed and if you are allowed to stay trash the place and then cry when you are dealt with or be excluded and then cry that you were excluded and destroy things

all while wondering why no one wants YOU around......and again if you feel that "they" "them" "YOU" ect is referring to anyone that you identify with...well then it probably is and you are probably not intelligent enough to know why many feel they way they do

because incorrigible behavior is not a "culture" or a race or an ethnic group.......it is just garbage acting like garbage and if you can't deal with being branded that stop acting like garbage stop and acting like people are branding you that for anything other than your behaviors....and if you insist that it is because of some other reason....well then deal with that as well because no one else wants to still deal with your behaviors
Not all true because Over Texas and Fiesta Texas prices weren't much different from Astroworld. Again, the problem came after the installed the last major ride which was Serial Thriller (this was in 99 I think). Astroworld had some of the best rides in the entire system once that ride came in. Wasn't too long after that that the Six Flags Inc started having money issues, started going through bankruptcy proceeding, and saw which parks they would let go (they also moved their HQ).

Didn't matter the color. Brown, white, black, yellow, etc., all took part in the hooliganisms.

They neglected Astroworld. Simple as that. All it would have taken to fix Astroworld was a stronger security presense for one season and to have no tolerance policies enforced. Word would have spread and the seasons after the park would have been way better.

Also this has nothing to do with the McKinney pool incident. That oncident was completely under control when the cops arrived and were telling the teens what to do. It was only when the manlet warrior cop started doing flips that things got really crazy.

You were there the last year it was there which was the absolute worst year for Astroworld, obviously. There had long been plans to sell the land to Reliant at that point (Six Flags goofed there...land was not as valuable as they thought).

It wasn't strongly organized by a church organization, just loosely billed as a Christian lock in for some of the advertising (not all). You'd have to define to me what exactly you mean by ghetto, but as far as I can tell it was just out of control kids doing what they always do.

well black churches are just as nice and white ones. just seemed like it wasn't something a church would put together. and it get all out of hand. Usually a church would have a ton of parents there.

Perhaps it's not a question of offense. The poster didn't seem offended. It was more like she/he was clarifying the nature of your claim. When one labels a child a "feral child," one is really make a claim of superiority and also dismissing their relationship to the child. It is also quite obviously racist, but leave it the white males to explain to everyone else what is or is not racist about their discourse.

The last couple of years Astroworld was selling family season passes (4-pack) for $49 on promotion regularly before the season began. Just a year or two before these were around $300 for the family season pass.

There's no hope for a park fire selling season passes at a little over $10/pp.

Yeah, I'm not sure what came first - the crowd control issues at Astroworld or Six Flags basically choosing to give up on the place, cutting security and maintenance expenses due to their financial straits.
