I'm considering taking a job in Freeport, TX and I'm currently looking for luxury/newer apartments. I do not want to stay in Freeport itself. Thus I'm looking at Pearland and League City right now. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to live.

I'm not really feeling living in Lake Jackson either

Check out Summerwind, Reserve, and St. Andrews apartments in Pearland. All in the same area.

I am sure there are newer over there but that was the spot of choice a few years back.

Lake Jackson is definitely known for having the best apartment options, as well as being the nicest town to live in generally in greater Brazosport, but I've heard the good properties are fairly pricey and full (hearsay, not confirmed). You may be forced to look at Pearland regardless.

Normally most Dow Chemical people live in Lake Jackson and commute to Freeport.
Pearland is too far.

League City to Freeport would be an awful stop and go drive with a good portion of the drive on 2 lane (one lane each way) highway. If you live on the east side of LC, then tack on traffic congestion on top of that unless you work graveyard shift. Even though it is smaller, I have only heard good things about Lake Jackson. But you are making the right choice by avoiding Freeport.

Agreed, Freeport isn't very nice. Lake Jackson has a decent number of nicer apartments though, including a couple brand new ones. Pearland or League City commutes don't seem fun, but I can understand Lake Jackson not seeming like the most exciting place to live.

Lake Jackson is the best option. Otherwise the commute is terrible, especially after working 12-15 hours.
