Klein rezoned After HS 5 opening the fall of 2017, all students north of 1960 go to Klein High school. She can ask to start there now. She may need to provide transportation for a year. But it is walkable. Long, but doable.

It has been in the works for 10 years.

Just tell them since the move will be hard for her, rather than changing to another new school within less than a year, can she please just start now. Should be no problem. The key is the principal.

People north of Strack road have been going to Klein for years on the qt. I know some in Woods 2 The only time there was a problem was when a cheerleader mom counted the votes and her kid wasn't gonna be head cheerleader. She ratted out two girls so her kid would get elected. But, those girls are out of college now and there is a new superintendent this year.

Go to the Kein ISD website. You can get lots of information.

Good luck.

Hopefully those 13 months go by quickly. Those apartments rent on the lower end so it's not really pricing out people you don't want living there. If I were you I'd get an alarm system and be very aware of your surroundings when you are out. Don't come and go very late at night or very early in the morning. No place is free of crime but being located on 1960 is a bit more ideal for crime because it's easy to get in and out. When your lease is up see if you can stretch your budget a bit more to move to a safer area. By then you'll know the Houston area much better and where you'll feel safe.

But there are also benefits to where you will live. You'll be very close to Willowbrook and all the shopping and restaurants you'll have around. So it's not all bad.

Good luck!
