Is racism common? Not in Houston. Does it exist? Absolutely. Just turn on the news and see all the insanity with police shootings and riots.

Sorry bro, that sucks he's that ignorant, but if it means anything, I'm a white dude who taught in Asia for a few years and encountered some ignorant comments about me since I was different. Not defending the dorkus who said it to you, but many people like that don't love themselves or just want to insult in generalities. Hope things get better, bro! :-)

The N word has nothing to do with being black. There is no such thing as an African American. You are either African or American.

I looked up its meaning years ago. It may have changed but at the time I looked it up it meant a person who had no arms or legs. In other words, it means you are unable to do anything for yourself. That is why the word is so offensive.

Well, like the word "guys" the meaning of the N word has changed too. At 70 years old I almost feel maybe I need to go back to school with my grandchildren so I will know the meaning of words again. The meaning of so many have changed since I was in school.

Let's just say the man was upset and wanted to insult you. I think I would avoid him. If your yard is joining his yard, it is a little hard to mow and not mow his yard just a little. He should thank you for it.

That kind of racism is not uncommon in my part of town. And they are not all old, white and from aeast Texas either.

Most of the people who think like that have enough sense to keep it to themselves.

It has gotten a lot better in the past 20 years.

Did he say ni**a or ni**er? Also, what is the race of the neighbor?
