Wow, that's some scary stuff. Burglars being chased by guy in underwear! He didn't fire a single shot? Maybe the bad guys were more afraid of being chased by guy in underwear.

Yeah you have to wonder about someone who will chase burglars down the street. I think that's a near-death sentence in itself. Pretty stupid.

The guy had a gun. He should have taken them out. I won't lose any sleep over a few dead thugs.

Yeah, but that's homicide. Criminals seem to have more protection than us law abiding citizens.

The victim was hospitalized & eventually recovered physically, but apparently not emotionally, as he later committed suicide.

Sad but true. Though recently a law passed in Texas that if burglars are in your home, you can kill them and not be sued or arrested. However, you must kill them to receive the legal protection. You cannot wound them or you can still be sued. Which is pretty stupid.

I think they must be in your home, not in the process of breaking in, or on your property, but actually in the house. I'm not 100% sure about this though.
