Your screen name is making me hungry.

Inner Loop.

Because everything I need is here, and all my friends live here.

I hardly ever venture outside the loop, except sometimes for work, and the occasional field trip to the SW side (Harwin, Chinatown, Alief), or Uptown for a change of pace and scenery, out west if I want to go to Costco, Sandy's Market, IKEA, or Forbidden Gardens, or Kemah and Galveston, or the airport.

My vote would be High Meadow Ranch...north of Tomball. I enjoy driving through the area and seeing the horses, larger lots and listening to the windy blowing through the pine trees.... maybe not for everyone, but I like it. Dislikes would be the Sharpstown area in general, just don't like the feeling out there.

I live in my favorite place and will be moving in a year to another favorite place with a MONSTER yard. 77057 to 77079. I just like anything along the western corridor, inner loop included you crazy peoples.

Where I wouldn't want to live? Anything more than 20 minutes from home in rush hour traffic. Or a "master planned community." < Insert- Bravo chanel's The Real Housewives of Manhattan facial tick/expression>
Oh yeah, and SW Fondren.

We got nothing against you Uptown dwellers. If I ever HAD to move outside the loop, that's one of the few places I'd consider. Why, some of my best friends live Uptown! Well, only one, but still.

I have no idea. I need to take a tour of all the areas and what they have to offer. I would want a really beautiful home on a large wooded lot, in close proximity of great restaurants and work, excellent schools, very safe, neighbors who are not snobby but rather invite us to lots of BBQ's, affordable. ...Basically, I want Utopia... Does this exist anywhere? It seems there is always a give and take. ~K~

Yes, but it takes a hefty income and net worth to afford it in this city.

Edit
oops, I didn't read the last word in criteria, affordable. But neighborhoods with the other criteria do exist, just not really affordable. I think the burbs fit the criteria you listed except for the "great restaurants and close to work part."

Well, I have A friend couple inside the loop. I try not to hold it against them that hey live by ROCC. I understand some people have to make sacrifices in life. Besides, YOU people have most of the good food. We have Cafe' Annie though <raspberry>

I don't live in Houston but I was just browsing your board and noticed this going on a lot: Is it common in Houston for people to identify where they live with a zip code? Here in Seattle, people would look at you strange and wouldn't have a clue where you were talking about if someone asked you where you lived and you gave them your zip code.
