LOL! I noticed it was a little chilly for you folk this last week. Believe it or not it was colder in Houston than it was here in Toronto Canada yesterday! Still not really cold by our standards, but I am sure it is a little strange for you.

I know! We haven't even had frost in over a week. Last night or the night before it was between 58-61 F between 5-9pm. I think it set a record for the day. (too bad that ain't the norm up here for this time of year...)

It's fixin' to turn awefully cold in a few days though. Highs will be in the high 20's to high 30's, overnights could dip below 20 F. Next Monday I'll be working outdoors all day and its forecast high is 28 F. Eeek! (lol)

Default Bring back the heat

There is no way I could handle that cold of weather. Right now in Houston is is about 58 and my heater is set at 78 degrees. We were out at the ball fields earlier and every person was wrapped in multiple blankets, had those butane heaters going. I want my texas heat back soon. 80 degree Christmas is soooooooooo nice.

Was that comment about my weather forecast or one of the posts about Houston's forecast?

Our cold winters are often tough, but somehow we (and even I) seem to manage. I can handle working outdoors in the high 90's F a little bit easier though.

Your heater is set at 78F !!! Mine is set at 64F right now and I move it to 60F at night when I go to bed. I just wear zip-up long-sleeve heavy sweater jackets indoors and sweatpants...and I keep bootie socks on my feet. It was 11F this morning and everything here is still frozen solid. I have a two-inch layer of ice with snow piled on top of that blocking my garage...though I think I could drive over it if I wanted to. I went out earlier to try and shovel my driveway by the garage and it was like trying to shovel hardened concrete...impossible. I'm ready for a thaw, but I'm snug as a bug in an electric rug inside

I could not stand for my heater to on 78, I'd be sweating I don't even turn the heat on at 58. I love the cool weather. We turned ours down to 60 last night, felt so good to breath cool air! I say bring on the cold! I want another white Christmas.

Another freeze is expected tonight in Houston. IAH is forecast to hit 31F and in the northern suburbs I should be in the 20s. This cool weather is here to stay it seems. Today and tomorrow's highs will likely struggle to get out of the lower 50s.

BTW: Another cold front will be here Wednesday night to re-inforce this most recent shot that has come down this morning. Behind that one, however, we could see rain showers and clouds for a few days, so that will likely add to the "winter-like" feel.
