How in the world are they planning to finish the last part of this project? (connecting SH 146 to I-45 S)

Are they going to build a new bridge? Or will they just have TX-99 run parallel with SH 146 for most of that stretch?

Houston will soon be the only US metro that will have 3 beltways to my knowledge, right? The only city I can think of globally that does too is Moscow, Russia.

Also is TX-99 going to be used heavily?

59 to 45 already is pretty packed during rush hour.. not too inconceivable to see it get widened in the next 20 years

That's a broad question. 99 being a loop, there are many different sections, all with their own character.

99 on the west side is already getting frequently used. The free section below I-10 is a clusterfrack many times during the day. From I-10 up to 290 is ok during non-rush hours, but during peak times it could already use another lane. I've only driven 290<>45<>59 once, so I can't comment.

But the general answer to your question is... being in Houston, if we build it, it will get used heavily.

Katy to Woodlands, back to Katy in a day on 99 will cost you a hair under $18. Ouch! Do that 4-5x a week for work and it cuts into the lunch money.....
