Good to know!!! We take our boys to the museums all the time, kids museums, science museums, art museums..we love it all!!

These homes are zoned to Dulles Elementary (north of Lexington) or Lexington Creek Elementary. If you look at the demographics of both schools (can find them on HAR) you'll see a really good mix of all ethnicities.
Perfect, I will for sure add these to my list to check out!! Definitely love a healthy mix of all ethnicities, especially raising kids with a love for different cultures, languages, and people.

I gotta say, that Sugar Land is VERY diversed
and another thing, it that it feels like a small city .... I don't think that can be said about Katy, which feels like a normal suburb

I recently found out Sugarland has Smart Financial centre that brings some Amazing artists to town. Hans Zimmer is coming in July.

Stay away from Alief. Not a very good part of town.
Been looking on HAR too, we're willing to up the budget for the right place. Just hoping we can save on rent, since our goal is to buy within the year after we get a feel for the area. And thanks!! Taking Alief off the list after talking to others.

Oh and just thought about it...proximity to farmers markets and a Whole Foods is a necessity! We go to 1-2 farmers markets a week out here, and basically live at WF. Haha

I think you would enjoy Sugar Land, for all of the reasons others have mentioned. And yes, we have a Whole Foods, and a nice (small) year-round farmers' market. Also, there's a new subdivision in Richmond (near my home in New Territory) called Harvest Green that has its own farmers' market (haven't been yet)!

You will find Fort Bend County to be quite diverse, with a wide range of cultural opportunities.

You can rent a nice home in a quiet neighborhood with good schools for $1800, but it will be more than 20 years old. These are near my area:

THANKS for the link, this is awesome!! We don't need to be in a newer home, I actually really love the character of older homes vs. the cookie cutter look of new builds. I don't care when we rent...but when we buy, I am hoping to get an older home that we can change up a bit to make our own.

Waters Edge on Lake Houston.

Close to the Beltway.

Not too far from the city.

Quick ride home from work and wakesurfing until sunset.
