Don't know who he is interviewing with....but some big names that come to mind are Dow, Exxon Chemicals, BASF, LyondellBasell, AkzoNobel, Chevron Philips etc. I know Exxon and Chevron are/were building or expanding their plants in same area.....so maybe Bechtel might be of interest since they might be involved in expanding/building the plants.

I would stay away from pure oil companies or oil services companies for now. Refiners might be ok.

Hope that helps.
Ummm. Easier said then done. My buddy is an operations manager of a Chem plant in orange, TX. Unless your experience is directly related to process (chemical or refinery) it will be tough to get such gig.

You are correct that it won't be easy. I just assumed that since he is already interviewing in Pasadena, he has some experience along those lines.

We moved to the Clear Lake area about 3 years ago from North Carolina. I have been very pleased living there. I do a lot of my errand running in Pasadena - it is easy to get to from Clear Lake. CCISD is a great school system.

You will hear a lot of school districts described as "great". I would describe Barbers Hill ISD as "elite".

I would strongly recommend Deer Park. I recently moved here from the west side of town and couldn't be happier. The schools are very good The city has wonderful public services and great recreational and athletic leagues. It is a small town feel with the advantage of being close to Houston.
