Got tired of Houston, moved out to the far west side of town. (Brookshire). My question is does Katy use Red Light Cameras, or is this an Emergency Preemption Device on the signal arm? I'm referring to Spring Green Rd.

Thanks for any response

A picture would google map link would help, but if you are talking about the cameras on the mast arms with the signals, those are video detection systems and detect when a car is waiting for the light. If you are talking about the black cylinder shape things, those are opticom sensors and detect the lights on emergency vehicles.

Your post explains everything very well. I looked up Spring Green Rd & South Fry Rd on google maps. It shows exactly what you said.

Thanks

And we get a lot of emergency vehicles up Spring Green from 1093.

I've noted that the Cinco Ranch Blvd and Westheimer intersection - When the fire engines go through that intersection and use their light switcher . . . The intersection flow is messed up. Now maybe it's not the same as it used to be but I remember the left turn lanes wouldn't switch on at all until three rotations of lights went by.

Most places that have red light camera's are marked with signs stating it also. I believe Sugarland is the only place close to Houston to have a bunch of them still.
