Comcast is telling me it will take more than 2 weeks to get local phone service to my home in Sugar Land. Are there other alternatives that anyone can recommend? I would like to try to get service scheduled more quickly.

I am fine with either a land line or VOIP - of course I'd like responsive customer service, reliability, and fair pricing (ha, ha).

Thanks!

Unlimited calls, voicemail, call ID for just $24.99/mo. Try Vonage now! (Vonage - VoIP Internet Phone Service for Home, Business and International Calling: Vonage – A Better Way to Phone for Less)

I would have considered Vonage if the business media weren't reporting their impending bankruptcy.
