Hi there. Can anyone reccomend a decent insurance company that isn't over the top expensive but also doesn't have an enormous deductible.

Soon2b,

I currently use Nationwide and have had them for 17 years. I have always thought they were good until my wife was just rear ended by someone with no insurance (alot of that in Houston). The company that I have been so loyal to all these years was not very helpful with anything. I had to call and ask questions all along the way and they never returned the phone calls. I do have uninsured motorist so everything is covered, but still no help. I am going to switch to All State after this, I have heard many wonderful things about them from friends and coworkers... Hope this helps you some..

Thanks Hickory. I never even thought about having to have uninsured motorist. I don't think we have that in Canada. Isn't it required by law that everyone is insured? I know it is here. I don't even want to think about the fine I would get here if I were found driving without insurance.

Yes, it is a law, but so are the thousands of other things criminals in Houston break. There are so many people in Houston that follow up on these people isn't as harsh as should be. Many other crimes such as murder, drugs, rape etc that take priority over this. Don't get me wrong the person that hit my wife got hit with 2 very pricy tickets. It just happens a lot around here with people that don't have much money. It is a must to have uninsured motorist in this city...
