At least Houston gets rain. Denver's so hideously dry and moisture starved, it's nearly always faded greens, greys, and browns. If it wasn't for the blue skies, there'd be no colors left in the spectrum.

Many in TX love the rains and moisture. It's a bounty of nature from the heavens. Even with extra wind, tropical storms, and yes hurricanes, it all comes together to stir the heart and soul. It's excitement, and nature alive. People away from the coast won't get that though. They'll remain clueless of what I'm talking about.

Having knowledge and experience with the boring, dead, still mountains is okay, but knowing and experiencing the dynamic and living coast blows that all away.

Boring but alive is better than exciting but dead...

I've never heard anyone suggest Houston "stirs the soul." Everything is grey concrete.
