I found out this morning that my friend's house on Lake Livingston has been flooded due to flooding from the Trinity River. Does anyone know if there is flooding near Aldine Westfield Rd near Cypresswood Drive?

I grew up in North Hampton, a subdivision in Spring, just north of Houston. A friend sent me a video and it's underwater. Almost up to the first story eaves. It's not in a flood plain so most of these people don't have flood insurance. It's a loss you can't imagine until you see it for yourself.

Over the years I helped my parents with clean up after several hurricanes. We had some roof damage and trees down, that kind of thing. But in all those years, it never flooded. Until now.

And with no power it will be almost impossible to save these homes. They would have to be emptied out and gutted to the studs ASAP. It would be a monumental effort just to haul away all the debris.

Lots of the area around Spring is in big trouble and I hope the waters recede quickly.

Does anyone know anything about the Oak Forest neighborhood? Near TC Jester?
The houses closest to TC Jester flooded but rest of the neighborhood is fine. Water is down now and semi going back to normal with stores and restaurants open for limited hours.

It was reported that white oak bayou came out of its bank around pinemont so I'm not surprised that homes along tc jester flooded. How were the homes south of 43rd going down Rosslyn since they are at a lower elevation?

A list of streets that have been evacuated can be found here:

New evacuation orders issued in epic flooding emergency | abc13.com

They're updating it periodically as new evacuations are ordered.

And, Snap Maps can help you figure out where the flooding stands on individual streets:

People are using Snapchat to track damage from Harvey

Hope that everyone in Houston will soon see sun!

Downtown Katy does flood. They have the Buffalo Bayou right there.
Parts outside of Katy proper may or may not be flooded.
I haven't heard one word about Cinco Ranch and if they've had flooding.
I do know Cinco Ranch SW does NOT have flooding.
I asked on another thread and Elyson doesn't have flooding yet their roads around them do.
Cross Creek Ranch (Fulshear) is in the same situation as Elyson -- Water around but not in the homes.

We have friends just north of Braes Bayou off Chimney Rock, outside Meyerland area
Their street was flooded...had two cars at different times try to drive through water only to stall out, had boats going by Sat night but their house had no water past door and kept power, water and cable...VERY lucky...
Meyerland Plaza very flooded...guys on jet skis in parking lot...but Belden's in her near area was open and had supplies....

This is a hopscotch kind of flooding where some areas very hard hit and some marooned...but dry...

Have friends in Sugar Land...got mandatory evac Sunday AM, went to niece's house near in vol-evac zone...that changed late afternoon...wound up in Rosenburg at Jr high w/o blankets or cots but they allowed their pets... This AM they went back to their house--still no water except in garage a little--ate bkfast and fed cats and planned to go to friend's house in N Houston area--not sure where...but not sure how they could get there w/some freeways flooding

Have two other friends in different Spring neighborhoods...they have no water in/near homes but some streets in area have water so basically marooned...

We lived in Bear Creek Village area in 70s--off Clay Rd and Hwy 6--behind Addicks Rez...that area now flooded 3-4 ft and spreading...likely to stay that way until Sept 27 from news report
