Because a lot of those suburban choices are (a) located a LOT farther away from central Houston or other job centers in terms of commute time, and/or (b) significantly more expensive.

The Brio site off Beamer is totally different from the landfill. I had friends that lived at the Brio site. She miscarried twins and her son had leukemia at age 2. The problems at Brio became apparant very early on. With the Mom's talking about the health of their kids, miscarriages etc...it lead to the discovery of the problem....and multiple lawsuits. I do not think SCR has had any of those problems. It is just smelly.
