I was looking at buying a home in the Houston area. How has Harvey impacted the market?

Properties that did not flood are advertising that fact and may seek a premium with the asking prices..

Expect costs of new builds to rise as the already tight labor market becomes even tighter.

Just noticed a "gold seal" on a listing about being flood-free.

This move-in ready home has an open house today from 3-5pm and they have not increased the price. I am not a realtor.

I haven't seen any price increases. Currently, all I've seen is people mentioning in capital letters that the home didn't flood.

I honestly saw an explosion of houses on Zillow this weekend, I feel like it may be due to people want to leave the area.

Most of the homes I'm seeing in Friendswood have been bargain basement cheap but areas like Sugarland and Katy seem to be holding firm, for now.

Keep in mind, cash is king so if you're buying your house cash, you're going to be getting a killer deal in Houston.

Two homes that are for rent . . . For months. . . Are now rented. Both in the last week. I imagine families with kids want to get settled before school starts. I can't imagine the stress.
