Any updates? Looking at a house on the market at the little airport and really don’t want a cheap, high pop neighborhood right there as traffic will be a nightmare

The latest I've heard was that the developer did not get the financing to proceed with purchasing the land. The county still lists the property as belonging to the nursery. Other rumors stated that should the land fail to sell to a developer, another nursery was interested in the property.

Cross posting from another related thread concerning 359 and the former Color Spot Nursery.

A quick update related the FM 359 expansion, as well as the former Hines/Color Spot Nursery on FM 359.

The land formerly used as a nursery has been acquired by JDS Nursery Tract LLC. So another nursery, right?

Wrong.

JSD Nursery Tract is a recently established LLC that is a subsidiary of Johnson Development.

A little more digging turned up a re-plat request with the city of Houston (the land lies in the City of Houston ETJ).

From there, a general plan of what is being called the "JDS Nursery Tract" has been found.

In short, the re-alignment (smoothing out the "S" curve) of 359 will run through the 437 acre development. 7 acres of road frontage is reserved on the NW corner of the development for commercial development; a majority of the land is reserved for single family ranging from 40 to 60' foot lots; one section of multi-family is also noted on the map.

As someone who lives downstream along Flewellen (a body of water that will run through this development), I will be the first to express concern for future flooding issues. Cross Creek Ranch already uses Flewellen as their primary means of water removal for the neighborhood. Multiple rain events (Tax Day flooding and Harvey, as of late) have demonstrated this to be 100% true. I expect this issue to be further exacerbated by this development.
