Looking at options to relocate to Texas possibly later this year (coming from Japan, on temporary assignment as DOD contractor). Interested in the Sugarland area for the schools and the fact that there seems to be a small population of Chinese in that area (my wife is Chinese).

All that being said, we are also interested in living in a somewhat ruralish community in which gardening and maybe some livestock (chickens and the like) are allowed per ordnance\zoning.

Not looking to live in a typical subdivision type community, but having some homes nearby is nice.

Thinking .25 - .5 acres, and price-points in the $200K - $250K range.

Very grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks in advance...

That doesn't really exist inside Sugar Land. The closest thing that might be possible, could be along FM 2759 and 762 in Booth, Thompson's and Whaley Corner......these are rural areas adjacent to Sugar Land, but not actually inside Sugar Land.....you might find something there.

I guess around Rosharon as well. It is also kind of 'around Sugar Land' and within the budget.

Look in Rosharon or Fresno, Sugar Land is a suburban community with an urban feel.

Richmond is pretty much built out, and the acreage subdivisions along FM 359 would most likely be outside the OP's budget. Possibly Needville?
