Who does that? Who calls back a random number that called them? If the person was really trying to reach you, they would have left a message. /rant

I've had several numbers that look like my number call me. Once I answered and was rather rude to the person on the other end of the line. My son overheard and had a million follow-up questions. Lesson learned: don't answer.

How funny. I had a similar experience. I received a long voicemail from someone with the same area code who apparently was receiving calls from someone spoofing my number. I played the person's voicemail to a friend when I was trying to figure out what had happened. Then when I was trying to play the message for another coworker, I accidentally Clicked "Call Back" -I immediately hung up, but received a text message a minute later saying "STOP!!!" I texted back explaining the situation and haven't heard anything since.

You'd just be blocking real people with numbers that have your same npa-nxx, they aren't spammers they are spoofing real numbers. I've even had a call from my own number before! When I see calls from my same npa-nxx now I just don't answer because I know it's a spammer.

Thanks for the responses.
Sounds like I can't get in trouble from this so I'll just regard it as a minor inconvenience and disregard those calls.
