Why did the 2nd Baptist Church with their 65,000 members (so weird these megachurches) get so involved to defeat a gay rights proposal for the city of Houston? Those laws pass easily in Philly, Boston, NYC, Chicago, etc. but not Houston. It was defeated. Incredible for such a huge city in the US.

Gentrification normally doesn't involve families and this is a pattern true throughout major cities. BUT-the Heights is the big exception. White families are and have moved there.

Also some of the neighborhoods close to NRG Park saw increases in enrollment from the 1980s to the 2000s.
