I care about things that are happening in Houston. People here may want to try to help these kids, by volunteering, or may want to go to the site to peacefully protest the cruelty of separating these kids from their parents. It's perfectly relevant to post this here.

I didn't say what my political leanings are, I just said that they need to tread carefully because they can **** a lot of people off with this and it could possibly blow up in their faces. But you're right, I probably should have left that part out.

Maybe now they will think twice about making bogus claims of persecution. Those shelters need to be in isolated areas, not large urban centers that are bound to cost more. Better yet, speed up the process and send them back to their native countries.

You are not banned, yet, but you surely work hard to make it a bad thread. You want it to be closed - what is it to you? You don't like the topic, don't participate.

And that's fine. Either way - I don't really care, but little kids should be with their parents, and not live in a camp like orphans. Hope their parents or other relatives will find them there, and take home. Those kids are innocent.

Yes. Thank you! All those are good reasons, and that's why posted it.
People might want to donate kids stuff they don't need anymore, or food, or just simply volunteer.
There are over 200 kids, toddlers and babies. We should care about kids, no matter what color or race or where they came from. They are now in Houston, so it does matters.

I think that Houstonians should go to the proposed shelter and protest. That's the American way.

Unless we start showing that we don't agree with these policies, they will continue infringing on people's rights.

My better judgement tells me to stay clear of this thread but I'm going to venture into what is obviously an extremely emotional topic anyway.

Doesn't CPS separate kids from their families all the time here in Houston, many times simply because the parents are not capable of providing basic necessities, or because there is suspicion of abuse or domestic violence ?

Perhaps this is not the best policy but it seems there is a drastic visceral overreaction as if ICE is stealing children so they can sell them to rich couples eager to adopt foreign children away from their righteous parents... Chill ….folks..
