seems like you are a car/truck guy, I would definitely take my time and look for a 3car garage home, having the space for hobbys and tools is always nice to have.

love to go back for a visit but my family doesn't live there anymore so there really hasn't been an opportunity to go back.
I'm married now and live in my hubby's hometown here in San Diego, which is great...I mean, who doesn't love San Diego? BUT there are some major cons to living in SoCal (as I'm sure you're aware). I keep telling my husband if we ever decide to leave SD, I think we should consider Houston. Obviously, its not perfect (neither is SD) but the things I liked there far outweighed the things I didn't like. I was pretty happy living there and I thought the people in Texas were very friendly and welcoming - and I LOVED all the sports teams (I will forever be an Astros/Rockets fan after living there).
The Katy/Sugarland area is ok but I preferred the Champion Forest area more. If I were to move back, I'd focus on that area or The Woodlands. I just love all the forest trees and how green it is. I used to shop at the Willowbrook Mall a lot because I worked as a waitress at the nearby Olive Garden (right off of 1960 & 249) to help pay for college...I wonder if that Olive Garden is still there?
Anyway, I think you'll have a great time there...Houston is pretty diverse so no worries...I think you'll be just fine!

Just wanted to say that I live in Olde Oaks with my partner (gay couple). We have been here since 2013 and love it. There are a few other gay couples peppered around the neighborhood. It's quiet and well kept. Lots of original owners that have retired as well and stayed here. You get so much house for your money. Hope you have found what you are looking for!

I'm conservative but when it comes to gay / straight I couldn't really care less. I have three sons and one is gay and I love and accept him no less so your welcome to move next door to me and we'll have a cookout unless your vegan....then stay in CA!
