Hi forum,

I am visiting my sister in Baytown until 10 January 2019. I do not have a car nor driver's license (live in dense urban area in Europe) and have explored Uber-ing, Waze Carpool, and the lovely bus that goes to downtown Houston from the Baytown P+R. None of these options are ideal for different reasons (price, limited hours, namely). If anyone has another suggestion for me to try that I might not know about, I would appreciate it! It's been a week and I am going to lose my mind....my sister and husband are in their early 40s and no joke, are hitting the hay at like 8pm

I have taken the tour of baytown and ok, seen one strip of shopping centers and chains, seen em all. Please help. I've visited several parks, some nature areas too.

Thank you so much!!!

Other than cabs/uber and the metro bus what else could there be? Well, I guess there's the secret underground lazy river but we don't tell the tourists about that ;-)

It's pretty cheap to rent a car if you have a valid DL. I'm not sure how that works for a European license holder? Might be worth a call to Enterprise over on Garth Rd.

Uber.
Other than that, cheapest bike from Craigslist.
You can't ride bike on a freeway, only on local roads.

That's why I listed all the known transportation methods and noted the 'I might not know about part.' It could be possible there is some kind o carpool forum that might not show up on the first pages of a Google search. So yeah thanks anyways.

Try carpoolworld.com. There are carpools to the city from Baytown, but they follow business hours, i.e. 8-5pm. You are better off with the bus in that case as it has many more trips on a typical day.

You could uber to the park and ride bus rather than to the city.

Note that Baytown is not a METRO member city, and instead Harris County Transit serves it.

Based on https://transit.harriscountytx.gov/pages/busroutes.aspx connections are made at Gulfgate Mall between METRO and Harris Transit Baytown routes
