What are some good weekend road trips you’ve taken with Houston as starting point? No kids will be going so don’t necessarily need family friendly spots.

We love the Hill Country and go several times a year. Fredericksburg, Llano, Johnson City. When we don't want to travel quite that far, we go to Bastrop and stay at Lost Pines. Depending on where in Houston you are, that can be an under a 2 hour trip (lot os kids there, though).

New Orleans and Corpus Christi are others we occasionally do.

Pretty much anywhere in Texas or Louisiana, public or private. Get out there!

I'm an oddball I guess. I've gone to Screams a few times. Then there's the other Ren faire. And I keep missing Texas County Reporter. Anyway, unlike a lot of other small towns in Texas, Waxahachie still has a nice well kept downtown area.

Yeah it’s not a bad place to live either. Far enough out yet close enough to Dallas still.
