A lot of people in West U also do Pin Oak or Lanier. It's interesting how the neighborhood has a common elementary but fragments into various middle schools. Some parents are promoting Pershing, but there are various contenders.

Where are they attending middle school now?

Thanks! By PS, are you referring to Presbyterian? Also, where do your kids go to middle / high school now?

I took PS to mean private school.

The oldest is at HSPVA after attending Pin Oak and the youngest is at Pin Oak now, I believe.

As I understand it, West U Elementary kids typically go on to three public Jr. High schools: TH Rogers, Pin Oak (lottery) and Pershing. Pershing has its defenders, but it is safe to say that most would vastly prefer Rogers or Pin Oak. A fair number also go on to area private schools for Jr. high. Back in the 70's, my parents pulled me out of Pershing and put me in private school. Pershing was absolutely atrocious at that time, but people say it has improved since. Not sure how seriously I believe that.

I left Lanier off the list above.

I went to WU Elem and then went to Lanier. I loved Lanier, continue to hear good things.

Threet just left West U - https://www.essentialsnews.com/new-p...name-is-known/

Twain is also an excellent elementary school (Roberts too) but I assume you're zoned to WU..

Yes, PS= Presbyterian School. Oldest went to middle school at PS before career took us 1K miles from Houston.

We got a lot of questions from their private school teachers here as to where did they develop all the advanced skills they have.
