That’s great! PS is on our radar. Thanks as well for sharing your thoughts on ROBS! How about AOS?

AOS to me was normal upper middle class plus the Greek community. More doctors, lawyers, and upper management kids than CEOs and old money kids.

I’m curious. How would you describe PS families then?

Mix of both with plenty of upper service class(doctors and lawyers) and upper management mixed with old money and C suite. Half the kids are picked up by the nanny.

The 8th grade class trip was the first time one of my oldest kid's classmates flew on a commercial airline as it had been all private planes only before that.

The headmaster at PS is very vocally anti helicopter and lawnmower parenting.

Interesting. I’ve read in other posts on this site that ROBS and AOS is more academic, but I spoke with all 3 admissions directors and compared the HS matriculation. Over half the kids end up at Episcopal at every school while the standouts go to Kinkaid or St John.

It’ll also be interesting to see Presbyterian’s new building for K-5th grade and major renovation for the middle school. It’ll be ready this fall, and they’re apparently keeping the size of the lower school classes but adding a few more spots in the middle school as they get a lot of good applicants especially from West U elementary that they’ve had to turn down.

Twain is also an excellent elementary school (Roberts too) but I assume you're zoned to WU..
For West U, it’s my understanding that the formal principal opted to take out art and music class to focus more funding in science and math. I wonder how/if that will change with the new principal.

We toured ROBS, AOS, and PS last year looking at the middle school and know many families at each of the schools. They all have excellent academics and lots of involved families. If I had to pick one characteristic which made each one a little unique I would say that ROBS is the most religious (kids actually take a religion class which is geared towards Baptist theology), AOS has a focus on it's Greek heritage and PS emphasizes the arts and it's proximity to the Museum District. You can't go wrong with any of these schools academically. Socially, they each have a distinct feel, much of which you might be able to pick up on the tour-- or if you know families at the schools, that also helps.
