I believe flood insurance policies are funded by the federal government. I don't even think there are private flood insurance companies anymore.

I bought my NFIP policy through my State Farm agent, but it's not a State Farm policy.

Any insurance agent.

Quote:
You can only purchase flood insurance through an insurance agent or an insurer participating in the NFIP. You cannot buy it directly from the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). If your insurance agent does not sell flood insurance, you can contact the NFIP Referral Call Center at 1-800-427-4661 to request an agent referral.

It’s a government plan, but you can sign up through whatever insurance company you want. Usually it is easiest to sign up through your existing homeowners insurance company. The rates will be the same from all of them.
