According to Westchase District website major changes are coming to the area, a lot of the retail centers have plans to be redeveloped into walkable outside lifestyle centers, and more residential properties will be built near these lifestyle centers for more homeownership opportunities. Westchase is becoming the new downtown

I seriously doubt that sort of plan will be successful out there. Too much of a weird strip center vibe.

Oh please.

Its a nice area no doubt, but it will never get the inner city vibe .

Are the gay bars going to move out there too? I am interested to see what Westchase does, because it does sound like they are going to do some big time changes.

Sad to say but gay bars are numbered in their days. Gays feel welcome in mainstream drinking establishments. Also dating apps have diminished the numbers as well.

Westchase is so diverse, I'm not sure even a lot of upscaling could squeeze it into a dominantly trendy-upper income-Anglo vibe like Montrose.

I didn't realize Westchase was such a charming walkable area full of single and multi-family residential on 5000 sq foot lots and narrow streets, just like Montrose.

Beautiful Westchase.

Even the newer, denser areas have no sidewalks:

At best, the "lifestyle center" will be more like City Center, but hardly Montrose. Another island in a sea of parking.
