Let me ask, if working in downtown, coming from the NW (say South Tomball-Cypress-Willowbrook area) is it better to drive or is there a viable transit alternative?

Was exploring if driving to Northline transit and taking light rail makes sense or if that drive alone is miserable/is there even parking.
Was also wondering if maybe busing it from Beltway 8 or 249/290 corridor made sense.

Coming from Willowbrook, I take 249S/Tomball Pkwy to 610E and I'm in Downtown in no time. That route is 38 minutes, which translates to 22 miles.

Really? What time?

I don't know my work hours yet, but I usually like it where:
-I can workout before or after work
-I can get home by 6 on nights my teams play (they are EST).

I live near willowbrook area, work in med center, and take two park and rides to work from the northwest station. I work 8 to 5 and it takes me 1 hour or so each way. It beats putting the mileage on my car and dealing with traffic.

Looks like I will be in Cypress by 290, so is the bus viable?

I live close to gym, job, Wal-Mart, bank, Willowbrook Mall (plus other malls on the North/NW side of Houston), several restaurants & my church, etc. so I don't have that issue. I work from 7:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, but sometimes I take a half-hour lunch to get off at 4, and others, I come in from 7am-4pm.

If you don't want to deal with traffic, your best bet would be a park & ride from the NW station to DT. What's your exact work location?

Cypress by 290 where? Either the Cypress or Northwest Park & Ride should work.
