Smh, only in Houston does it flood when it’s not raining! No but seriously I hope nobody is severely affected by this. I know half of Houston is without water at the moment. I’m located in Northwest Houston and we haven’t noticed any change in water pressure in this area.

I was just getting ready to post about it.

Get some extra water from the store and don't freak out when you experience no water or a very low water pressure. They are working on...

Traffic update:
The northbound and southbound lanes of the East Loop are closed because of high water near Clinton and traffic is backed up for miles. 225 is also shut down.

Harris County Toll Road Authority is waiving tolls on the Sam Houston Tollway between I-69 (US-59) North and I-45 South/Gulf Freeway on the east side of Harris County. This includes tolls at the mainlane plazas and entrance/exit ramps within those limits.

Houston Mayor recommends boiling water for the next 24 hours!!

Update:
Tolls are scheduled to resume at 5 a.m. Friday on the Sam Houston Tollway between I-69/Highway 59 North and I-45 South/Gulf Freeway.

And here is a tip How to properly boil water
1. If your tap water is cloudy, give it time to settle. Strain the water with a clean cloth, paper towel or coffee filter to remove sediment. If your water is clear, skip this step.

2. Hold water at rolling boil for at least one minute to kill harmful bacteria.

3. Let the water cool before drinking or storing it.

Please don't burn the water cooking

Update:
By 8 p.m., water stopped flowing through the broken segment of the pipe and receded from the surrounding area, said Houston Public Works spokeswoman Erin Jones. Drinking water was re-routed to other pipes in the system, and pressure was expected to gradually increase through the night, she said. Repair work likely will start early Friday morning.

Health officials warn that the lack of pressure could increase the risk of bacteria. The boil order would remain active until further notice.

Houston Public Works officials identified the contractor involved with the broken pipe as Harper Brothers Construction. A woman who answered the phone for the Houston-based company put a reporter on hold for 10 minutes before disconnecting the line. Additional calls were rejected and the firm’s website was later inaccessible.

Wonder if they will pay for the mess...

Unless the city failed to vet its contractors, they’ve got insurance for that. I know, there’s the suspenseful part.
