I am sure there are people who live there and enjoy it, but I am afraid its draw "back in the day" was good schools and new affordable housing stock. Now that the housing stock ain't so new, and the schools aren't as desirable, I don't know what the draw would be for people to go back in. Maybe there are qualities to the area that I am not familiar with, but I am not seeing it.
You are right on the money Good schools is what drew the population out in Alief in the 1970s. Lot of 80's apartments and single family homes.
Too bad those days are gone.
