Well, if you're near the medical center, you have the option of heading out Bellaire Blvd to the West Loop then exiting San Felipe to S. Voss Road. Problem is that there isn't really a reverse commute in this area of the city so traffic will be an issue in either direction.

Another option is heading up Kirby and hitting US 59 (Southwest Freeway) west to the West Loop to San Felipe and then west to Voss.

And I guess third option is taking the South Freeway (SH 288) north through downtown to I-45 then north to I-10 (Katy Freeway) then west all the way to Voss Road, then south. Problem here is that there can be backups going through downtown on I-45 that can slow you down five minutes or so.

Thanks a lot, Texas Mack! Could you also tell me how long these routes would take approximately? That's really my issue as I need to make sure I get out of the house/hospital in time to pick up the little guy before the center closes.

Unfortunately, there's no "quick" solution with any of 'em. I'd plan on about a 25-35 minute travel period on any of 'em at the least. The Kirby option might be pretty good in a few months, as they're repaving the road and traffic should move more smoothly through Rice Vilalge. Right now, though, if it were me, I'd do the Bellaire to west Loop option.

The west loop is a nightmare. I probably would take Holcombe/Bellaire to Hillcroft and then drive until Voss.
