Since the governor decided to remove the mask ban, I thought it might be helpful for people to know what businesses have decided to do. If you hear of a business (especially a big one like HEB) or restaurant stating their mask policy as of next week, please post here. It would help folks make the "right" decision for themselves about where to go.

HEB will not require customers to wear masks under the governor's order. Employees and vendors will still be masked up. Let's see how many HEB employees will get the Corvid after this.

I'm disappointed in HEB. I also don't know what it will be like in there. I haven't really been since last year about this time, but I can't imagine it going well between the people wearing masks and the people who "choose" to disregard science and put everyone else at risk. I'd have a hard time even looking them in the face without getting angry.

I think Costco will still require it. I was there today and heard an employee talk with a customer that it will still be required to wear a mask. Imagine if your company follows Abbott's advice. You could be working in the next two cubicles to someone who doesn't wear a mask. One sneeze and you'll be worried all day at work.

Dumb dumb dumb. I go to HEB and Walgreen's and a few other places, because everyone wears a mask, and I feel comfortable for the limited time I spend at each place. But to go in now, when some neanderthalic mouth-breather is next to me?

I honestly am not sure what I will do. I don't want to walk among the infected without masks, yet I don't care to be a hermit either. The safety & mask rules allowed a compromise that worked, and drove the numbers down.

Now... ?

Default Which of the following will still require masks?

Which of the following stores in Sugar Land will still require masks?

1) HEB
2) Costco
3) Whole Foods
4) Sprouts
5) Kroger
6) Target

I hope to dear Lord at least a few still require masks so we have a choice. I will intentionally avoid places NOT requiring masks, as I do not want to be around others that could care less.

The mask mandate was not needed for the majority of us. It's for those that don't care and who would not have worn masks that it was needed. These are also the same people who are more likely to engage in behavior leading to COVID19 infection. I do NOT want to be around those people maskless indoors.

My elementary school teacher used to say, "It's always the same few who ruin it for the entire class!"

This appears to start a list:

So far Target will require masks, but unfortunately HEB, Kroger, and Randall's don't care anymore. No word yet from Costco, Whole Foods, or Sprouts.

I hope at least one of Home Depot or Lowes continues to require masks.

Dropping masks now is making it all the to the 5-yard line and just throwing in the towel with the end zone right there!!

Maybe, but many people don't believe we are on the 5-yard line. They still remember the "14 days to flatten the curve" almost a year ago. They are done with being strung along and believe that if we waited "just a few more months" there would still then be the same resistance and calls for just a bit longer from the same people.

Kroger has said they will require masks. Hopefully this doesn't change. We're going to HEB to stock up on cat treats (our cats only like the HEB brand ones), and then we'll switch over to Kroger and Costco so long as they enforce the masks for customers. I am so over Texas, but we have a few more months here.
