I wouldn't think the murder would affect anything. Especially if it happened 8 houses down. That's a pretty high demand area so buyers are usually more willing to overlook things like that. And it's not like it happened last week.

I agree...that was a completely random murder. It won't affect the value of that area today.

Does the quoted price of $ 115 p.sq.ft apply for wooden or for all cement & bricks construction ...?

The whole thing sounds shady to me. The price per sf for that area is just way too low.

This is a cost + flat fee construction. Builder takes a fixed profit of $75000 and build the house at the cost around $115 per s.f. Brick exterior, wood floor first level and carpet on second, etc.

I agree with EasilyAmused. I think if you buy the land, then you should be able to do whatever you want and not be stuck with one builder who will build your house as cheap as possible for his gain. I would get an attorney to look at the contract and see if you can drop the builder for someone else you may like.
