Dont know if it has been mentioned,but BH is proposing building 7 plants for backup only,and hold one week worth of LNG.

I think not. Our problem isn't enough gas plants, we have more than enough. We just need to make them winter ready. Which we can do for much less than BH wants.

Another concern for me is where this proposal falls on our current power generation spectrum. Right now we have a free market, with all its associated pros & cons. Before (in the "olden days"), we had government regulated power, with a guaranteed return. What BH is proposing is the worst of all worlds--they want a guaranteed return, but in a free market.

Let's either go back to what we had decades ago, or fix what we have now. A hybrid will cost us more then either.

No one works for free,it wants what Center Point and others get ,that 9%.
But a week of LNG as backup.
what happens if we never have a situation like the one who have last month?

The Legislature is never going to force their friends in the power generating business to spend money to weatherize existing plants, since the power generators would quit paying for legislators hookers and blow.
