Ok, I wanted to thank all of you for your comments and for your help. I've secured a property in League City in a fantastic elementary school. I'm within a few minutes of everything I needed to be near. I will be a Texan in about 2 weeks and I'm pretty excited about it. I can't wait to escape this NW weather!

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not driving all over the place either! I really would've been ok with up to an hour commute, but I'm glad I was able to get relatively close to work. I'm happy with the choices that were made and I can't wait to be there. That warm weather sounds pretty good right about now, as I sit here in sweats.

I don't know if you will be like me, but I am SO LOVING the Texas sun. The last few months we were in Portland, I was freezing all the time and I couldn't get warm. I'm sure the heat will get to me at some point but right now I feel like my bones are still unthawing from the cold rainy years in the Pacific Northwest. It makes me shudder to think how long my family tolerated that weather.
