Hi, we have been on har.com this weekend and discovered there are many new homes at Lake Shore Habor, Missouri City. Is it a new MPC, and do you recommend the community, neighborhood, etc? How is Missouri City in general rated as a suburb? Is commute to Sugar Land & Houston, other places reasonable? How does it compare to Sienna Plantation or Plantation Settlement?

Have been reading this forum for a while and we are so impressed with the friendliness & helpfulness of the Houston folks!

I believe the newer subdivisions outside of Texas Parkway are looked at more highly than the older subdivisions... though I'm not entirely sure.

Lemme get the zoned schools for this subdivision... (When you buy your house, remember to confirm your zoned schools - Also use http://zonemaps.fortbend.k12.tx.us/edulog/webquery/WebQuery.jsp (broken link) to determine any residence in Fort Bend ISD's schools)

Lake Shore Harbour is zoned to the following Fort Bend ISD schools:

The west side of Missouri City is almost identical to Sugar Land. In fact, Dulles Rd is the border of the two cities... houses on one side of the road are in Missouri City, and houses on the other side are in Sugar Land, though the neighborhoods look identical (all in that specific area are part of First Colony).

Some parts of the far east side of Missouri City that border with Houston are not the best areas.

Sienna Plantation is nice. I'm not familiar with Lake Shore Harbor. I think Plantation Settlement is part of First Colony, which is highly regarded (but also expensive HOA fees for the upkeep).

A good thing about Missouri City is the commute to Houston is a little easier from many areas than the commute from Sugar Land. Both are much easier commutes into Houston than from places like Katy, The Woodlands, Cypress.

Default too many homes to choose from

Is Cinco Ranch or Seven Meadows a grander & newer MPC compared with Sienna Plantation or Plantation Settlement? From what I read, Cinco Ranch has its own beach, FD & PD etc etc. We are trying to narrow down our search for a home.

Looking for decent commute (hubby will work in Sugar Land or Energy Corridor if opportunity presents itself), some Oriental shops, Costco, safty and good quality of life - air, things to do etc. Price range up to $375k asking price (figured we might be able to bargain it down to $350k, is it realistic in Houston?)
