Bloomingdales would succeed in Texas I just don’t think Macy’s cares to grow their Bloomingdales footprint that much. They’ve mainly focused on their Macy’s stores.

Even though I disagree with the above that the Galleria Neiman Marcus is better than Saks, I do agree that it’s more common to see African Americans in Saks than in Neiman Marcus. Saks is the best performing brand of the big 4 and keeping up with the times is part of the reason. Black wealth is growing so that’s a target market. But beyond this, they just cater more to improving the shopping experience overall.

Dallasites often point to the reason for no Saks or Bloomingdales in the area to be because of the Neiman Marcus brand loyalty. But I think they would work by now.
Do you work in retail by chance? You know A LOT about it through your post history lol

Can't believe I forgot Miami. You are right that Black Americans prefer Saks to Neiman Marcus. I'm one of them. Use Saks off fifth as well lol. But this is true throughout the country I would bet. Black Americans also prefer Bloomingdales to Neiman Marcus. Also agree that a Saks in Dallas would work.

Right you are. I overlooked that one up in Palm Beach Gardens.

I noticed there has been less foot traffic this weekend (well yesterday, Friday) and last weekend in comparison to two weekends ago and three weekends ago at the Galleria.

Is this because the weather has gotten so good, people don’t want to be inside? Also, was there Spring Break a couple weeks ago? I noticed a lot of the ladies at the Galleria a couple weeks ago were tourists.

Is there any other spot with legit foot traffic late afternoons on weekdays and any time on weekends in Houston, lol? I know Rice Village is OK. It sounds like Houston Heights and Washington Ave but really Fri and Sat nights

Malls are usually empty around this time of year.

If by prime you mean busiest, holiday season. But then it gets way too packed at that point. Summertime - right before the holiday season is the most enjoyable traffic imo

Me and my wife were literally out and about in Midtown/ Eado and Montrose this past Saturday night and people were out and about in droves. Midtown had the busiest foot traffic of course.

Interesting, what street(s) in Midtown? My buddy and I checked out Downtown and Washington Ave Sat night (even though I’m generally not a nightlife guy) but I didn’t find either to be particularly impressive or bustling.
