Now, I usually groan when I see people bad-mouth Houston ISD as a whole (I am a student at a magnet school in Houston ISD); I say one's experience in Houston ISD depends on the individual school.

But, I love to bad-mouth North Forest ISD in northeast Houston (It also has some unincorporated sections of Harris County).

North Forest ISD has faced numerous corruption issues, poor school grades, and lack of commercial investment. North Forest ISD is in a mostly-African-American, mostly poor area outside of the 610 Loop (though a bit of inside 610 is in NFISD), northeast of Downtown Houston.

The district is small and has two high schools, yet it still suffers from a lame administration. It is shrinking (student-wise) at the same rate that Katy and Cy-Fair ISDs are growing!

NFISD needs to be merged into Aldine ISD and/or Houston ISD. While I would like to see all of the city limits of Houston (including Kingwood and Clear Lake) in one district, merging NFISD is the first thing I want to happen!

Default North Forest ISD

I would love to see North Forest become apart of Aldine ISD. I attended North Forest schools from K-12. I presently have children and I still live in the area, but I will not allow my kids to attend North Forest. I work for Aldine and my kids attend Aldine, I have some that has graduated from Aldine. I think my kids are the reason I choose to go to work at Aldine so they might have the opportunity to attend a good school. Aldine has so many GREAT schools that I have plenty to choose from.
