I am moving to Katy, TX and I have heard a lot about flooding! Can anyone tell me what areas of Katy flood? Better yet, what areas don't flood?!

Thanks

Default katy flooding tsarp.org

checkout tsarp.org, as a realtor I use it all of the time.
Verify with your insurance agent before signing final home contract.

The entire Houston Metro is flood prone. If your worried about floods just skip Southeast Texas all together.

I use www.tsarp.org all the time, also - that's why I know it only works for Harris County - not Fort Bend or Waller. It's useless for the majority of Katy.

To the OP - Katy is not an area to worry about.

There's a difference between concerned about floods and expecting one to take out your house. There are areas that are very much in danger (areas along Braes Bayou) and then there are areas that probably won't suffer much more than street flooding (Heights, Memorial area since Buffalo Bayou is controlled). However, I don't ever recall Katy being a concern in general.

Now I feel stupid that I even posted. This guy is digging up all of these old posts like crazy. In this case, the OP probably has been living in Katy for almost three years.
