Harris County = incompetence… voting locations running out of paper, machines malfunctioning…

It’s almost 11:00 and still no ballots counted. Pathetic.

Looks like the Harris county voters have spoken. It’s a blue tidal wave pretty much across the board. I’m most surprised by the criminals judges results.

That’s no coincidence,
Harris county is the county that has the most liberal voters in Texas
I call it = planned voter suppression

One location was opened 4 hours late because somebody couldn’t find a key
Another location, some judge said she couldn’t sign the voting certificates (I think that’s the name) because her hand was hurting
A county of 6 million people, more people than Louisiana, and all votes are counted in one location.
And the list goes on and on

And as usual, anything that affects liberals will be talked about in the news for one day

The early votes were counted by 11.

I can't see a reason for running out of paper. That should be easy, bring in 3 or 4 more times as much as is expected.

The law allows 24 hours for results.

The Election Code prohibits voting machines that were used for early voting from being used on election day, which would explain why there were machine malfunctions.
"Sec. 129.057. USE OF MACHINE IN EARLY VOTING. A direct recording electronic voting machine deployed for early voting may not be deployed on election day."

The central counting location is probably driven by limitations in the Election Code. I recall that there were plans for multiple locations a few years ago, but the law prohibits using the internet to transmit the data. Since the Harris County network, like all large networks, uses the internet, that makes the remote locations technically illegal. The data can be sent over a phone line, but there's no provision to do that with the voting systems. Presumably, we will hear more on this as the day progresses.

There were 782 voting precincts. There may have been that many voting locations, but I can't find the location list in a usable form to look for precincts voting at the same location. With that many locations, I would be shocked if there weren't any issues. The missing key was at Baker Ripley, which apparently also had issues with poll workers not showing up. KPRC had a tip that the Melrose Park Community Center was closed due to an emergency unrelated to voting. Ahh, a City of Houston worker was electrocuted near Melrose Park, resulting in a power loss to the location. That's awful for the worker and his family.

I’m 0% surprised that Lina won by a bigger gap than last election. The opposition is always louder. I’m not sure why people see a bunch of signs around the city and wasted Twitter energy and expect Mealer to win. I’ve seen the same episode play out over and over again “look how much we’ve came together her opposition is showing” blah blah. It happens in mayor elections, county judge, presidential etc

Harris County is just blue. I think that's really the lesson here. Dems actually gained another commissioner out of it too.

Yes, Leslie Briones' victory is particularly sweet after Jack Cagle's ugly behavior recently.

I'd like to see them stop wasting money putting personal names on parks, etc.. "County Commissioner Jack Cagle" provided this park, you're welcome. As though he personally wrote the check. Ted Heap's name all over every street in the neighborhood. That's our taxpayer money, paying for them to campaign. I think I'll drop Ms. Briones a note and suggest this change.

I love it when crooks lose elections

https://www.chron.com/politics/artic...t-17533688.php

Harris County Commissioners Tom Ramsey and Jack Cagle, both Republicans, skipped a sixth straight Commissioners Court meeting Tuesday morning. Their non-attendance forced the forfeiture of about $100 million in new funding for law enforcement that the Democratic faction's proposed budget allotted for.
