I haven't been in several years...and seem to recall some concern about people's cars getting burglarized while they are visiting a grave. I'd be alone, but would go midday if I do. I know the location is not the garden spot of the universe, but should I be hesitant to go? Thanks.

This is a risk at any cemetery, not just Houston National. Just use your common sense and be aware of your surroundings. If you feel unsafe take someone with you.

Yet another example of Houston's crime problem "normalized". I'd assume the Forest Park Westheimer Cemetary has the same problem? Sad. Where I come from, there has never been a problem like this. People are left alone to visit their passed loved ones. Graves are left alone. Where I come from the only issue was "punk kids" playing at night to find ghosts, especially in October, but they weren't harming anyone or anything, and they come home safely. You cannot do that in Houston.
