Why is premium gas in Houston area SO MUCH more expensive vs. regular gas? I mean places here are charging 90 cents to a whole dollar more for premium vs regular. At current prices, premium gas is nearly 30% higher than regular gas here!! Are we being ripped off and gouged??

Even in California, where gas prices are crazy, premium gas is only like 30 cents higher per gallon than regular. Percentage wise it's like 5% more.

It seems like Houstonians are being gouged for premium gas. Have not see this anywhere else.

True. They should raise non premium gas prices that way premium gas isn’t that much more expensive. Boy is California lucky to have not only premium gas expensive but also non premium.

I don't know about California, but when I was in Virginia a couple of weeks ago it seemed like it was about the same, $.70 to $.90 more than regular. Maybe demand is higher here (relative to demand for regular gas) vs. California? A lot of people out there do drive electric cars and smaller cars that might not require premium.

Don’t get premium. It’s a gimmick. Tests were done. 87 is the best bang for your buck.

Some vehicles require 91 minimum. That means premium.. I think Costco is the only place the delta is a bit lower, but there's always a 15-20 min line just to get in at times I pass by.

True but if it doesn’t. 87 is fine. If you have to complain about 91 then you should have known this before buying vehicle.

Overall Costco is cheaper but also need membership.

Near my home it’s a particular Shell that is the cheapest. I get 3 cents off per gallon due to their program I am in plus 3% off overall gas since I use AMEX Preferred.

Not that much of a difference. Check here,:
https://www.gasbuddy.com/gasprices/texas/houston

Why do some gas stations cost more than others? Experts say it’s all about brand loyalty and location.

Exxon, Shell and Chevron seems to have always higher prices.

And then you have to watch for a cash and credit prices ..
