I'm taking a trip down memory lane and wondering if we are entering into a new cycle of heavy storms and flooding after this drought passes. Looking at Alder Trails by Taylor Morrison in Cypress, the developer/builder did not elevate those homes out of the flood plain. They built them at the same level as the older Hot Wells and Riata West communities, and all of those new homes flooded along with the much older homes. Meanwhile Towne Lake elevated all of their lots at least 24' from the curb so that there was only street flooding.

Wondering how the newer communities Bridge Creek and Avalon at Cypress will fair if Langham Creek goes over it's banks (it shouldn't affect homes because of all the remediation taken to widen that channel) - but still wondering if Taylor Morrison elevated their lots.

Here is video of the Harvey Flooding in Alder Trails: https://youtu.be/6_UhU7SrTA8

Won’t really know until it floods again, but that area was filled and raised via LOMR (Letter Of Map Revision) with FEMA. Very common for developers to do. I think it should be fine.
