Hi there, I am relocating to Houston from Detroit, Mi. I am looking at the Jersey Village area in NW Houston. 'I love me' some houses out there. I also looked into Katy but I want to be a little closer to the highways.Question: Does anyone know if there are similar jobs in the NW area or is that type of work primarily downtown? I just figured they are because in Detroit many of the big companies that need IT are situated downtown.

Don't go by distance on the map. Your commute will be on 290, currently the most congested freeway in the city. And if they ever start reconstruction on it, it will be even worse for at least 5 years. Count on an hour minimum unless you can land a staggered shift that puts you outside peak hours.

HP has their largest office in the nation in the Champions area. Approx. 10,000 people or so. They also have a very large data center there.
