One of Houston's largest public companies was just formed, as AIG announced completion of IPO, forming Corebridge Financial. Now trading under NYSE: CRBG. In what has been 2022's largest IPO so far. Now hq'd at the former AIG Tower along Allen Pkwy.

Some Corebridge Financial stats:

$15B in Market Cap
$358B Assets under management
$3OB in Premiums

Last quarterly earnings report for this segment appeared at around $8B

Very cool! Do you suppose one of these days the Houston Chronicle might catch wind of this? ;-)

Based on the numbers in the 2022 Fortune 500 list and Corebridge Financial's pro forma revenue numbers, it looks like they will be Houston's 7th largest public company (including ExxonMobil in the count).

Yeah. So weird that I found this by studying the market rather than a notification from the Houston Chronicle. Makes you wonder who they have working their in their business section. How on God’s earth does one of America’s largest financial institutions emerge in Houston and the chronicle bypasses it? Even stock bros on YouTube know if the details here before anyone at the chronicle lmao

The worst major newspaper in America.

And that is why Vroom "quietly" relocated to Houston (from your other thread.) If they had relocated to Plano Frisco, the Dallas Morning News would have had it on the front page of the Business section. Houston media: crickets; or worse - we are treated to stories about how we'll never be getting the corporate headquarters relocations yadda yadda yadda. If AIG/Corebridge spinoff had happened in Dallas rather than Houston, the DMN would have massively covered it, probably on the front page.

Sorry for the digression. Back to your regular programming.

I didn't see either the Vroom or the AIG story in the HBJ either

Pretty amazing. Small correction: Crown Castle just barely dropped out of the most recent Fortune 500 (#503), but Southwestern Energy moved up into the 500.
